Have you ever wondered how God would describe Himself? Exodus 34 includes the narrative of where God describes his own character. This is the only passage in the whole bible where God describes Himself.
To know someone a person can ask others about a particular person or a person can meet the individual personally and ask questions. Many Christians explore what others say about God but have you ever asked - Who is God? The best way to get to know God is to ask Him about Himself. This is exactly what Moses did in Exodus 33:18 when he said, “I pray you, show me your glory.” In Exodus 34:6-7 God reveals several of His divine attributes. God Himself revealed His own name. This passage is one of the most important theological texts in scripture, because it is the only place where God actually described Himself, listing His own glorious attributes. The importance of Exodus 34:6-7 as a foundation for biblical theology is evidenced by the fact that this passage or parts of this passage is the most quoted elsewhere in the bible.
